GC/MS is normally used for the analysis of environmental water. However, GC analysis is possible for samples with low levels of impurity components. This data was obtained from headspace GC analysis of water spiked with VOC components. Ten of the effluent standard items were analyzed using this method. Halides are measured using the electron capture detector (ECD), which offers excellent selectivity and sensitivity. As benzene cannot be detected by ECD, FID detection is required.

Gas Chromatograph

This separation/analysis instrument is widely used for the quantitative analysis of chemical substances. It is used with a detector and column combination that suits the analysis target components.
