Since its inception in 1875, Shimadzu Corporation has consistently contributed to society by developing useful and innovative products. In addition to this, our principles have now widely expanded to global promotion of regional development through science and technology, cultivation of scientists, and facilitation of educational activities for children.
We, the employees, collectively call these social contributions the “SHIMADZU Excellence in Science Program”, and will continue our commitment to socially beneficial activities.

The Victoria University Science Roadshow with support from Shimadzu's Fostering Science in Education (FSiE) Program travelled over 2,000 km in 2012 visiting 15 schools where over 400 students participated in hands-on science. VU staff were greeted with excitement and enthusiasm at every school, with teachers eager for their students to participate in the programs. For more information click here.

The Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, , officially opened the new $2M Science Centre at Hoppers Crossing Secondary College. Present also on the day was Mr John Hewetson, Director, Shimadzu. In partnership with Victoria University, Shimadzu has continued its program of equipping educational facilities with state of the art equipment. In the case of this new Science Centre the equipment covered the techniques of liquid chromatography, UV/Vis. and atomic spectroscopy. For more information click here.
