Antec-Leyden is a worldwide supplier of Analyzers based on (U)HPLC with Electrochemical Detection (ECD) and Potentiostats for electrochemical reactions upstream of MS. The DECADE II™ (U)HPLC / ECD detectors and the ROXY™ Electrochemistry (EC) Systems for EC / MS are known for their superior performance and unique features.
The DECADE II detector offers flexibility and stable working conditions for all applications using electrochemical (EC) detection. It has a highly stable Faraday-shielded oven compartment accommodating column and flow cell(s). Antec's flow cells and EC detectors have proven to be the best possible combination for extremely sensitive EC analyses.
Using Electrochemistry (EC) as a reaction technique with the ROXY Potentiostat before the MS allows the analyst to mimic natures’ REDOX reactions such as oxidative metabolism, oxidative damage of proteins/peptides and DNA damage. In addition, reductive reactions such as disulfide bond reductions in proteins/peptides and reductions in environmental samples can be performed almost spontaneously.
Many chemical reactions (Fenton), enzymatic and catalytic reactions as well as follow-up reactions (phase II) can be mimicked without biological interferences (e.g. cell matrix, plasma, urine, soil, etc.) making EC/MS a real Biomimetic tool with substantial savings in time and cost.
